Law proposed to improve development review process

Tomorrow night (Monday) the City Council is hearing public testimony, and apparently will vote on, Ordinance O-35-17. This ordinance would overhaul the development review process by inserting more transparency (beefing up the notification requirements), offering additional opportunity for public input, and would send major site design plan applications to the Planning Commission for a public hearing. This is good! And your support is needed! Last time it was mostly developers out to testify against it, with only a few there in support.

Annapolis hearing on Paris Agreement (climate change)

The City Council will be hearing public testimony on a resolution in support of the Paris Agreement (dealing with climate change), tomorrow night at 7pm. You can view the agenda here. And you can view the Resolution (R-22-17) at this link. It currently has 5-sponsors, so will likely pass, but I do feel it needs some additional improvements. I hope you will consider coming to testify in support. Climate change is a very real and imminent threat to the City.

Also, we would really appreciate it if you could spread the word. Invite friends via facebook by going to the event page , hovering over the 'Share' tab, and inviting friends and sharing on your page to let everyone know. In addition, feel free to email a link to the event website: http://www.robsavidge.com/calendar.  We look forward to seeing you there!

We did it! The "no net loss of forests" bill passes the City Council.

We did it!! Monday night the City Council passed the "no net loss of trees" ordinance! Thank you, everyone, who came out last night! We were able to head off any effort to delay and secured the necessary votes for passage.  Our current Alderman, Ian Pfeiffer, supported this bill and his vote last night was crucial to ensuring its success.  Please take a moment to email or call Alderman Pfeiffer and thank him for his support.
